AnGela Reinhard is the owner and founder of Community Events, an organization that focuses on connecting communities with the resources needed to live longer, happier lives. After nine years of passionately organizing health events including GFHLX in Sarasota, Florida, AnGela decided to break her silence and share how she is successfully battling bipolar disorder naturally. Her blog, yourpowerofreason.com, is full of well-researched articles & downloadable worksheets to help those suffering from ‘incurable’ hidden illnesses like bipolar disorder.
Message from AnGela
“Welcome to my blog where I share my experiences with battling bipolar disorder naturally. I’m AnGela – no, that’s not a typo; I’m named after my great-aunt from Greece so my name is pronounced with a hard ‘G’ (like in the word ‘girl’.)
“Like many others, I took A LOT of medication when I was first diagnosed back in 2005 (learn more about how it all started.) Sadly, those medications have a lot of side affects and led me to taking more and more medications. Thankfully, I stopped that cycle.
Keep Asking Questions
“I found a doctor who was willing to treat me as a unique person. After all, labels are for food, not for people. Take away the label and keep asking questions; like, why do symptoms increase with a lack of sleep? How do genetics play a role in the manifestation of bipolar disorder? Can our actions (the foods we choose to eat, the way we handle stress, and the environment we live in) affect the severity of this disease?
Labels are for food not for people. Take away the label and keep asking questions!
“Those are just a few of the questions I started asking. It’s been a long journey and I continue to find answers. Rather than keep these gems all to myself, I want to share what I’ve learned to help others along this path. And I’m sure I can learn so much from you too! So please share your insights in the comments section of each article or on our social media accounts.
